Learning Journal 14: Summarize your work this semester, the progress you made and the difficulties you encountered.
Goals: Imperative, traveling vocabulary
This week I will finish my study of the Imperative tense using more Babble lessons and exercises. Furthermore, I will like to end my study plan on a happy note learning vocabulary on traveling. I will use Babble lessons as well as Brazilian travel blogs for this vocabulary topic. After I document new vocabulary on my Portuguese journal, I will have a second review of material from past weeks to assess my progress.
Comments
Hi Jocelyne, it's important to be careful with terminology here. Imperative belongs to the grammatical category of mood, and not tense. With verbs, at least in Portuguese, you will need to consider tense (absolute location of an event or action in time, either the present or the past), aspect (how an event or action is to be viewed with respect to time, rather than to its actual location in time), voice (active, passive, middle), and mood (subjunctive, indicative, and imperative).
Jocelyne, whenever time permits, would you please upload your learning plan to the Ning? You brought it up during Presentation #1, but it'd be helpful to keep it here with your other materials.
