Reflection Paper #2

I have learned that I learned best when discussing and talking about what I’m learning with friends and family. I realized that I retain information pretty well after conversing with someone. I found that learning vocab is pretty hard without using it frequently. I enjoyed learning more cultural aspects of Korean. I want to continue my learning by watching K-drama and listening to more Korean music. I thought the videos were really helpful. One video that I recall is the video where the native American tribe cannot distinguish different shades of color due to linguistics.

  • Hi Seokjoon! I agree, learning vocabulary is definitely hard without spoken practice. Have you tried vocabulary flashcards? It's not great, but it's good for improving your understanding and listening skills.

  • Thanks for sharing! I definitely think that talk is the best way to practice and enhance knowledge. I've watched a lot of Korean dramas and I also try to imitate the pronunciations of words from them. However, I wasn't able to talk with people in Korean as I didn't really have the courage to do so. Therefore, I wasn't able to enhance my memory about those pronunciations and I had to re-memorize them again in the future study.
