I took Spanish since I was in middle school and there were many things I enjoyed and many things I disliked about studying Spanish. I really enjoyed learning about Spanish culture. Furthermore, I really enjoyed learning how to have a conversation in Spanish. On the other hand, I didn’t like memorizing random words that I would never use. We would spend a week or two simply memorizing 30-40 words and taking quizzes on it. I just felt like it be a better time if I learned words that I would genuinely use in a conversation.
When I took the survey about learning style, I was a 50% tactile learner, meaning I learn by touching and doing. Even my second learning style was 35% visual. When I took the strength assessment, my top three intelligences were musical, body movement, and self (intrapersonal). I feel like the best learning activity that would suit my learning style would be listening to Korean music or watching Korean tv shows and cartoons. One thing that could help me expand my learning activities is by learning topics that actually interest me. For example, I love playing sports and listening to music, so I would learn through watching sports broadcasts or listening to music in Korean.
