  • Hi Jae Wan, I think that learning about the history of Korean culture through the language is very meaningful. I think the culture is an important part of language that we should all learn about. I also think this is a particularly interesting topic to learn about. Do you think that the vocabulary you learn through this is useful in daily use of Korean?

  • I think it's interesting how you're using a lot of different types of material to aid your learning. The reading I've done for SDLC 110 has only been with news articles. I imagine that not only do you get exposed to more aspects of Korean culture through this, but also more variety in vocabulary and speech use. Would you agree that this is the case?

  • The approach you describe in this journal post is very useful. The way you utilize different sources, like Korean articles, comic books, and TV shows, and use them not only for learning new vocabulary but also to draw a connection between language and culture is very interesting. I think it is very compelling how you describe this method and especially how it has helped you to learn more about the identity and culture, even though this was not the intention at first.
