This month is my last month of study. I am trying to summarize what I have learned in the past three months, including vocabulary and grammar rules. This week Jason gave me the task of reading a news article and then trying to write my own version based on it.
In this process, I often communicate with my language partner Jason. Our goal was to learn from each other while I worked to improve my Korean reading and writing skills. These meetings often discussed recent political developments, which greatly enriched my understanding of the linguistic and cultural context. I used flashcards to learn some important political terms.
Overall, my strategy worked, especially in my interactions with Jason. The vocabulary helped me put the words I had learned in context, and the grammar exercises solidified my understanding. At first, however, I had a hard time connecting the vocabulary to the actual writing task. I've learned that actively using words in context solidifies my understanding more effectively than memorizing them. As the final month approaches, I plan to focus more on reading various political content to expand my vocabulary. I would incorporate more complex sentence structures and idioms related to social issues.
