These past few weeks with Korean have gone extremely well, Jason and I have stepped up our work to another level. We have been getting into more conversational words and expressions, for instance, we have been working on statements like “I am hungry”, “I am tired”. These types of statements have been beneficial in my conversational Korean, I have been able to speak with Jason and others in Korean to express my emotions. We have been doing a lot of work on my pronunciation of words also which has been challenging but also very rewarding. It has been great to see my development over the past few months, I am excited for Isaac to come back to hear how much better my overall conversational Korean has gotten. I am also happy to be engaging in conversations with Jason, last semester my Korean was good but not to the point where I could have more than just a few statements. We also have been working on more complicated topics like making things possessive which has been challenging but also rewarding to understand. Every week Jason has been making a sheet of topics we cover and review from the week before, during our breaks from classes I have been reviewing these topics and it's been helping when coming back into sessions. I think in the future it will be beneficial to keep working on these review worksheets, they have helped me greatly in my information retention. I look forward to the upcoming weeks of Korean, we plan to move into more conversational work along with honing in my pronunciation as mentioned above, we also want to engage in more cultural activities such as going to k-bbq. Earlier in the semester Jason invited me to attend a KASA event which was super cool. I enjoy engaging with Korean culture and I am excited to have Isaac come back and tell me about his trip to Korea. I am also planning on continuing my Korean journey next semester and to keep knocking tasks off my learning plan. We have been working through my learning plan and I would say that it's been successful so far we have been crushing the conversational Korean aspect. I am excited to start creating my end-of-year presentation because of all of the new information I have learned so far only being half way through the semester.

I'm also learning Korean for SDLC so it's interesting to read on how others are conducting their learning and what they do when meeting with language partners. Conversational Korean is also what I am working on and the review worksheets for information retention seems like a great idea that I might want to try!
