The Cultural Difference between Afghanistan and Iran
Iran and Afghanistan have had a very different journey, however these two countries have many similarities in their culture. Starting with the language, Iranian and Afghan dialects of Persian are highly mutually intelligible. Differences are found primarily in the vocabulary and phonology. Unfortunately the culture of Afghanistan greatly has been affected by its history. Iranian culture is now westernized and only a little if the ancient culture has survived. Iran in comparison to Afghanistan had and has a peaceful living environment. Therefore this helped Iran to get ahead in many areas, like science, technology and entertainment. Some of the achievements of Iran are the 6th top movie director in the world is Iranian Abbas Kiarostami, the 4th highest tower in the world is in Tehran. Iran is one of the best countries in counter-engineering, 51 of the top 100 universities in the Mid-East are in Iran, and they’re among the top universities of the world as well. Iranians are far more open-minded than many people portray them. The women in Iran are overrunning the place. Most of them get into the best universities and have a future that they decide. Since the 1980s, Afghanistan has witnessed several wars so music has been suppressed and recording for outsiders minimal. During the 1990s, the Taliban government banned instrumental music and much public music –making. In the Taliban regime females were banned from schools and just now it started to slowly change and it will take time for women in Afghanistan to be able to reach the same level of freedom as women in Iran.

Hi Roman! What is 'counter-engineering'? You should clarify a bit. And Iranian women are probably not 'overrunning the place'.
Can you think of reasons why the histories of Iran and Afghanistan are so different?
