For my final reflection journal, I would love to touch upon some topics that we covered in this semester and my overall Korean experience. Throughout this semester, Isaac and I have worked on many of my challenging areas along with areas that I exceed in. One area that we have honed in on is my conversational Korean, it has been great this semester to be able to have short conversations in Korean with Isaac, along with my friend Jun, who also can speak fluent Korean. I really feel like we were able to achieve my goals that were within my language journal. I still feel as if I have a lot of room for improvement. While we did a lot on speaking, I think my reading and writing skills can be the next big step in continuing my Korean journey. I plan on continuing to learn with apps such as Duolingo. While I do not think I will use my Korean abilities all that much in the future, I think that with continued practice, I want to be able to surprise Isaac with my continued ability further down the road when we hang out. I cannot speak higher of my Korean teachers than I have had in this process. Jason was another teacher of mine who absolutely killed it in the department of teaching. I feel as if between my two teachers both were amazing and communicated with each other in order to start off my journey on the right foot when Isaac studied abroad in Korea. I also plan on continuing to explore the Korean culture and engage in activities that I have in the past with Isaac. For instance, going to KBBQ with my family and friends in order for them to get a glimpse of Korean culture in the realm of food. I cannot thank them enough for their hard work and dedication to making my Korean language journey one that I will never forget. I also cannot say enough about Dr. Marsh-Soloway; he has always been uplifting and kind during my journey and has been such a great role model in this process.
