Bi-Weekly Reflection #1 - 8/26-9/6:
During these past two weeks, I worked on reviewing the basics of vowel harmony, questions, adjectives, and present-progressive in Turkish. Due to a month-long hiatus from my language learning in the weeks prior to the start of school, I needed to recoup the tempo of my learning. However, I spent those weeks building my vocabulary, as that was a weak spot in my early Turkish work. As such, I intended to accomplish my goals of easing back into learning and establishing a regular routine of self-instruction for the semester. I created a twice-weekly meeting schedule with my language partner on Mondays and Fridays at 9:00am, and began expanding my Quizlet study sets with further vocabulary and sections. Yet, I did not successfully expand my study set to incorporate a distinct adjectives section, as I struggled with these most during my summer instruction. Notwithstanding this setback, I understood the effectiveness of my Quizlet sets and resolved myself to work on them when time permitted.
