For my third artifact I'm thinking about writing a recipe in farsi. It could be for Iranian food or it could possibly be for something we eat everyday, but I think that this project would summarize my learning for this semester because my lesson plan was focused on reading and writing.

For my cultural project I thought it would be interesting to look into traditional Iranian cuisine. I want to give a report on not just general food culture but also the regional differences in preparation, ingredients and etc.

English is an analytic language because it follows a verb-object pattern as do French and Spanish. Japanese is an agglutinative language because it follows a object-verb pattern as do 50% of other languages. Japanese, much like Turkish, arranges elements loosely together and is, therefore, agglutinative. Greek is synthetic because it relies heavily upon inflection.

I finished my first artifact and have proofed it. I am going to finish my second artifact which is weather report in Farsi. I will be recording myself giving a weekly weather report. This artifact will address the spoken section of my learning plan.

My long term goals for this semester are being able to read children's level books without having to dissemble the words and using a dictionary. I also want to be able to write simple sentences and phrases. My speaking goals will simply be to expand my vocabulary. My first artifact will be a translation of Jack and Jill into Farsi. My second artifact will be a weather report recorded on a power point.

I have been focusing mostly on reading and writing. If this is the case for other people as well I suggest looking into rosetta stone. The sentence building exercises are very helpful with word recognition. Needless to say, I will be integrating Rosetta stone into my lesson plan and will rely on it much more.

Looking back on the FIRE model that was handed out in class, I found it difficult to categorize myself as one type of learner. If I had to place myself as one type of learner it would be the 7th level on the evaluative style. For me, I seem to excel with small groups that are collaborative as opposed to competitive. However, I feel that I am not single faceted and could learn to participate in other styles of learning as well.
