SDLC 111: Cultural Post #2

Cultural Topic: South Korea's Geography & Attractions  (Focus-Seoul)

Korea is located in East Asia, with South Korea in the southern half of the Korean Peninsula. It is mostly surrounded by water, with North Korea as the only country to be a land border. Similar to certain states in the United States’, such as Virginia, South Korea also has 4 distinct seasons. Their summers are known to be hot and humid, while their winters are cold and dry. Jeju Island has warmer temperatures than other parts of South Korea because of its more southern location. I am glad that I might be coming in the spring, where it won't be too hot or too cold!

The capital of South Korea is Seoul, which is where I will be staying, if I study abroad at Yonsei University. Seoul is known to have many cool attractions, which I am so excited to explore. Of course I must indulge in the delicious street food and take advantage of the shopping malls that are open late nights. I also want to explore the cultural historical buildings, such as the Bukchon Hanok Village, where people from the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910) actually lived in. There are so many other fun places that I can’t wait to explore!
