First Cultural Post: What are your cultural learning goals for this semester?
Which one or two topics will you explore during the course of the semester?
How do you expect to explore these topics?
What do you hope to learn through your exploration of these topics?
In order to prepare myself for my first studying abroad experience at Yonsei University next semester, I wanted to learn about the cultures of a Korean campuses, such as how classes are structured, interactions with professors, and social scene. Before I can learn about these topics, I want to first learn about the geography of South Korea and try to distinguish the city area, where the university is located, and countryside, where my family is from. I want to be familiar with the different locations so that I can plan where to land and where I can travel to. My learning partner said that she has a map of South Korea, so we plan to explore this topic by looking at the map and locating the main areas. We are also going to look at what the trademarks of each area is, so that I know where and what to explore when I am studying there! I want to learn about the geography of South Korea because I want to use my studying abroad experience to the fullest, so that I can visit all the places that I should!
