Summarize your work this semester, the progress you made and the difficulties you encountered.
I have greatly enjoyed my work this semester on Bengali. I have made great progress. At the beginning, I seemed defeated a lot of the times, especially because speaking has always been something very difficult for me. However, I am glad that I was able to carve out a lot of time to focus on the language. I was able to meet with my language partner many times throughout the week and practice the language. I was also able to listen to music, watch movies and TV series, and use technology to enhance m learning. Through this process, I have realized what a lot of my strengths and weaknesses are and how to work on them to better my learning. For instance, I am a very visual learner, so watching movies and TV really helps me learn. Also writing words down and looking at them helps me memorize the words. I feel a closer connection to my roots and a greater appreciation for the country that my parents are from.
