I have organized my self-directed learning plan to work around my school schedule and with learning tools that I know work best for me. I learned that there are a variety of tools to get started, so it was difficult to pick one that works best for me. After research and doing practice runs, I found that YouTube videos and the website Mango work best. My studies will allow me to better understand my target language and culture because I will know how they express themselves. Meaning there are different ways people communicate, so I want to understand what makes the culture its culture. At first, I wanted to learn to boost my resume, but the more I learn about it now, I want to learn to see different points of view. Their feedback was that they liked my idea of drawing pictures that match the words, and they had history facts from the language.
