When you are learning a language, it is important to reflect on the culture that surrounds the language. The reason for this is because a language can be found within a country or multiple countries, thus if you do not understand the contexts and nuances around the language, you allow room for misunderstandings. If a language learner makes a mistake earlier on in your discovery of the language, then it is more forgivable; however if the mistakes caused by the inability to figure the foreigners out when you're knowledge of the language is more thorough, then tensions may arise with those you are trying to communicate with.
