MLC 105 Learning Journal #2

Not only were the readings interesting (I found the discussion of the "Freudian Slip" to be of particular amusement), but I truly feel as though they assisted my learning endeavor by affording me with some useful pointers. For example, as I mentioned in class, the readings made me realize that I will probably benefit more from a style of language learning that focuses primarily upon the structure of the language rather than the conceptual matters of such.

Speaking to this, I feel as if I know the majority of the commonly used Spanish vocabulary, yet I still have trouble speaking and writing in certain types of sentences and tenses. I feel as though, if I had a little more structure and better understanding of the grammar, I would be a much more proficient student of the language. Accordingly, I now plan on gaining a more solid grasp on the basic structure of Spanish, in the hopes that this newfound knowledge will feed off my current understanding of the needed vocabulary.
