These past two weeks we have focused vocabulary for sites and attractions. Thalia and Bu Julie gave us a list of words that describe places. Words like taman (park), pantai (park), danau (lake), sungai (river), air terjun (waterfall), and bioskop (movie theatre). This vocabulary will help me describe locations when I go to Indonesia. I plan to take the aforementioned words and the others Thalia and Bu Julie identified and put them on flash cards to help me memorize them. I have realized that my vocabulary has improved dramatically. I recently sat down and started to just write down the words that I have memorized and was surprised by the length of the list. Although I do not use the vocabulary every class, I am still retaining it much better than I did last semester.
