My interest in my language is to get to know my culture better. I am of Korean heritage, but have never visited Korea. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. I am aware that there are countless cultural differences between Korean and the United States. Therefore, by learning the language I would like to be able to become more affluent in my culture studies.

Next fall, I am planning to study abroad at Yonsei University. Because I am considered a fluent Korean speaker, I am capable of taking the courses taught in Korean. However, I believe that my level of Korean is not fluent enough to write papers and read at a fast pace. Therefore, my goal this semester is to increase the complexity of my Korean so I can succeed academically at Yonsei University. I would additionally like to communicate with the students and residents of Korea.
