Discussion Post #5

I’m very interested in Korean festivals or holidays. There are a few similar festivals between Korea and China, but the traditions for each festival are usually different. To understand the tradition and history of all the holidays, I need to know more vocabulary for Korean food, games, and ceremonies. For example, for Seollal (Lunar New Year’s Day), Koreans hosts family feasts with specially prepared food such as 떡국(rice cake soup) and 만두국 (dumpling soup). People also spend time with their family playing traditional games such as 윷놀이 (yunnori). I have included the vocabs for food and festivals in my task 2, but I didn’t think about Korean traditional games when I was making my learning plan. I’ll expand my task 2 with Korean traditional games as well as popular games in Korea.
