  • Hi Janis,

You have piqued my interest in Korean humor as well. It is definitely different than American humor, and I think it is more self-deprecating than other types of humor. The way that the Korean language has evolved to assist the utilization of humor would definitely interesting to examine both across generations and geographically. I am also starting to realize that cultural immersion can definitely help and possibly speed up the process of learning the language, which is something I didn't put as high importance before. Cultural immersion is a way to understand how people think and talk about interests and current events in their lives, therefore language and culture go hand in hand when conversing with people.
