The Persian dance is from Iran, This dance is composed of the motion of the upper body with an emphasis on the movement of the hands and a lot of facial expressions as points for attention. Persian classical dance is lack the hip movement of the arabic dance. Some elements of Persian dance are present Indian classical dance because of the influence during the rule of the indian subcontinent when the muslims invited the persian dancers to the Mughal courts. The female leads with her upper body using her hands and arms while the male compliments the movements of the female to the music. It is also possible to have same sex couple dancing this style of persian dance because this style of dancing is not very sensual due to the manners of hand movement and face expressions. This style of dance is performed at family gatherings where they sit in a circle on a rug and a couple dances in the middle to the sound of persian drum beats. There is also other forms of dance in Iran, the Bandari dance and the belly dance Raqs Sharqi. Also there is Afsaneh ballet.
