This course has given me a whole new perspective about learning a language. I've always considered learning a language's culture as important, but I've never really understood why till now.
There's a big connection between a language and its culture. One can never separate them. It's often questioned whether a language develops a culture's world view or if the culture develops the language's world view. In my experience, I would say a combination of both.
I have enjoyed learning about Pakistan's culture throughout the semester. The various subjects I had to research about to complete these cultural posts have been extremely helpful in my learning journey. Though I did not necessarily learn any new vocabulary or grammar rules, I learned how to apply the knowledge that I've already acquired in a way that is appropriate for the culture.
