Language Writing System:
The Korean language is written in a language with characters unique to their own. It is composed of an alphabet, where each symbol mimics the sound you can make with your mouth. Although this language was invented around the 1400s, most of the writing system in Korea until the late 19th century included the use of Chinese characters. This was known as "Hanja". Thus, in order to read historical texts of Korea, one must be able to read these Chinese characters.
