Bu Julie suggested I watch the movie Nagabonar Jadi Dua, an Indonesian film. She had a copy of the movie and thought the dialogue and speed of the move would be manageable for a beginner to follow. The film also has English subtitles, so It was not very difficult to follow along. The film is about a man and his son and their clash over ideological leanings on some concerns. The movie discusses the political climate in the 1950’s as well as the issue of independence. This movie was great because it is set in several locations around Indonesia like Jakarta. This movie gave me an idea of what the culture in the country is like. I got to see the flow of conversations, manners while eating, and traditional dress. I also got to see some of the local architecture and just how beautiful some areas of the country are.
