111: Second Cultural Post

I watched a Korean movie called “I Can Speak”. It was describing the relationship of a young man and an old grandma. The old grandma was known to be a bit stubborn and hot tempered. Little did people know, she was a “comfort woman”. During the Korean Japanese War, the Japanese kidnapped Korean women and used them as sex slaves. This movie was about the grandma learning English and telling her story in the United States. It was an extremely touching movie and I learned a lot about the history of the Korean Japanese war.
