This week my language partner decided to take the time to have a “midterm” because he was worried at the amount of new words I had learned. My language partner thought we were going too fast and should slow down a bit. This was also the first week that we facetimed for our lesson. We focused on reviewing from the first and second week especially since I had forgotten the body parts. The new material we did cover was animals and I discovered that many of them were in Spanish except they had a –pa or –pi attached at the end. Lastly, after our lesson, we briefly spoke (for about 15 minutes) about how Quechua and Spanish are merging in certain parts of Bolivia, we call it Quechuañol. The concept is similar to Spanglish for U.S. born Latinos who are native bilingual speakers.
