This week my language partner and I worked on how to communicate distance, learned the phrases for different types of houses, and nationalistic words used. I did not intend to learn this, but my uncle suggested I do so because of recent events in Bolivia – there was a severe flooding in central Cochabamben towns. Cochabamba is the epicenter of Bolivian Quechua. I think these phrases will be useful because I can describe where I am from and also understand some political discourse Qeuchua people use.
